The guest of the sixth Moontalk is Emanuele Quinz, curator, art and design historian, born and raised in Bolzano, now living in Paris, where he works as a full professor at the University of Paris 8 and as a research associate at the EnsadLab, Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs.
His research focuses on the intersections of diverse disciplines of contemporary art and practice - from visual art to music, dance and design. He is the author of "Il cerchio invisibile" (Mimesis, 2014, Les presses du réel, 2017) and "Contro l'oggetto, Conversazioni sul design" (Quodlibet, 2021), which was awarded the prestigious design prize "XXVII Premio Compasso d'oro ADI" in 2022. He also writes regularly for various magazines such as Domus, Che-fare, apartemento, franzmagazine. His curated international exhibitions include "Invisible" (Siena, 2004), together with Luca Marchetti "Dysfashional" (Luxembourg, 2007; Lausanne, 2008; Paris 2009; Berlin, Moscow 2010, Jakarta 2011), "Basic Instincts" (Berlin 2011, Arnhem, Shenzhen 2012), "The Dutch Paradox" (Paris 2012). On Tuesday, 31.10.2023, Emanuele Quinz will discuss his interdisciplinary research in conversation with architect, curator and author Simona Galateo at 19:00 at Parkhotel Mondschein in Bolzano.
